There is still some stigma associated with online dating, more so with a paid dating site than a free one. The common line is ‘I don’t have to pay someone to find me a boyfriend/girlfriend.” But you mustn’t think of it that way. Paid dating sites are better than free dating sites because the only people listed at the site are serious about meeting new people. When you meet people in person, you don’t know if they’re single or not, you don’t even know if they want you hitting on them. If you try meeting someone on a social networking site, you might know they’re single, but you don’t know whether they’re looking for someone at the moment nor do you know what they’re looking for in a partner.
What about those free dating sites? The problem with those is that they are full of scammers due to the anonymity offered. They’re also not as safe as paid dating services again because nobody knows who you are. The final and most important reason as to why paid personals are better than free personals is because you know everyone on the site is actively looking to go on dates since they’re forking over 30 or 40 bucks a month.
